You go Abby Sunderland!!

Hi Abby! I've just finished reading about your solo trip in the newspaper and decided to start my FIRST BLOG ever since the invention of the Internet! (for real!) Anyway, I envy you and your adventurous journey! Being an ex-U.S. Navy Sailor who has travelled around the World and have visited 20 Countries (since I was 20 yr's old), I know what you meant by saying "follow your dreams". Since I was around 5 years old, I remembered sitting on the Oak tree in our front yard and just staring across the street to the dairy farm and wondering what was beyond my field of vision. Then later in Junior High and High School while studying World Geography and World History, I wonder/dreamt what it would be like to travel the world. When I graduated in 1970 from High School, I got accepted to attend Texas Christian University (TCU) but unfortunately the DRAFT and the Vietnam War was going on and I had to go serve my country. I'm glad I did because this started a new adventure in my life as I began seeing the World and all it's beauty (and Ugliness) and experience the Seas & Oceans of the World! (along with wicked Typhoons, Hurricanes, etc.etc.) I LOVE being on a ship (NO Aircraft Carriers please!) and just enjoy sailing the world oceans/seas! It was soooooooo PEACEFUL (except during Typhoon/Hurricane weather!). Anyway, I already typed too much on here. I wish you Fair Winds and Smooth sailing and IF there is anything I can advise you on or help you with or even if you feel alone/lonely while at sea, then please contact me and I will CHEER you on but I know what that feeling is like at times! BYE for now.
Respectfully,
LeRoy
